Educational goal:

To enable that students completely master the concepts, methods and techniques of the technical analysis in the investment processes with special accent to the practical usage of the acquired knowledge; to increase knowledge in the field of the terminology and processes of the technical analyses in general and individually; introduction with the actual trends in the subject matter, that is, with the methods and techniques of the technical analyses in the investment processes; to implement the acquired knowledge while decision making in the field of investment; to enhance knowledge and practical skills which are necessary for optimal decision making about the investment; to acquire the practical experience by the investment simulation; to develop competencies for the market analyses and the investment decision making in the environment of modern business trading systems based on the application of information technologies in decision making processes.

Educational outcome:

The students will be able to implement the acquired knowledge, gained during lectures and by their active participation during lectures, in everyday professional work and also in their further professional specialization. In that sense, the students will increase their knowledge of the terminology and processes of the technical analyses in the field of investment and also will become aware of the latest trends in the field of technical analyses, which will significantly enhance their knowledge and skills necessary for everyday business practice and the successful career. The students will master the latest methods and techniques of the technical analyses in the investment processes, both theoretically and practically, with special accent to the practical usage of the acquired knowledge in the field of investment decision making and trading systems optimization.

Course content:

The term of the technical analyses; General concepts (Overview, Dow theory); Technical vice versa Fundamental analyses; Chart construction; Trends (Trend definition, trend characteristics, main trend; secondary trend, “minority” trend; trend lines; the term of trend consolidation and correction); The Moving averages; The Oscillators of the technical analyses; The bases of Gann’s theory, The Elliot Wave Theory; Time cycles in the technical analyses, The technological basis for the establishment of the trading systems in the investment processes; The overview, advantages and disadvantages of the trading systems in the investment processes; The Inter-market analyses and trading tactics; The international overview of the trading systems in the investment processes; The courses of further trading systems development in the investment processes.

Teaching methods:

Subject teaching comprises oral lectures; labs, which is performed in the computer classroom and includes computer (IT) simulation of the methods and techniques of the technical analyses and trading systems application in the investment processes; Consultations.
