Educational goal:

To encourage students to develop an understanding of entrepreneurial creativity through theoretical analysis and the use of creative problem solving techniques. The module will enable students to generate, evaluate and apply new ideas and concepts within a business planning process. Students will also experience creative problem solving techniques, reflect upon appropriate methods for different stages of problem solving techniques, reflect upon appropriate methods for different stages of problem solving and explore the relationship between creative problem solving and entrepreneurship.

Educational outcome:

Students will be able to: (1) use tools for creative problem solving, (2) establish criteria for the evaluation of emerging ideas, (3) analyze and evaluate solutions, (4) develop and participate in developing systems for managing ideas in (formal or informal) organization, (5) prepare strategy to protect ideas, (6) present the idea and (7) better understand the dynamics of teamwork.

Course content:

The course will introduce students to the latest thinking in the areas of creativity, the creative process, knowledge management practices and the nature of entrepreneurship. Having established the cricual link between creativity, entrepreneurship and economic development the course proceeds with the latest thinking in the areas of creativity, entrepreneurship and economic development the course proceeds with the latest thinking in the areas of creativity, the creative process and modern knowledge management practices supported by case studies and examples of successful applications. Students will be introduced to a variety of creative problem solving techniques and learn how to apply these techniques in the context of the development, evaluation and application of ideas and concepts with commercial potential.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, seminars, group discussions, information search, reading of scientific literature, and preparation and delivery of presentations.
