Adoption of basic knowledge in the field of organizational socialization of newcomers as a process of acquiring organizational knowledge and directing organizational behaviour, i.e. the way through which a newly hired individual learns about the organization and adapts to the new organizational culture. Understanding organizational socialization as an interactive process between employees and their organizations in which perceptions of employees during socialization influence this process.
Acquiring knowledge and skills for planning, organizing and managing the process of organizational socialization of newly hired employees in terms of adapting to the new work environment, as well as re-socializations of already employed individuals with the aim of their fast and efficient adaptation to the work environment and their specific work role, as well as coordination with other members of the organization.
Organizational socialization as a missing link between the needs of employees and the organizational culture. Organizational socialization as part of the human resource management practice in the organization. Domains of organizational socialization (regulatory, cognitive, normative). Phases in the process of organizational socialization (anticipative, phase of encounter, phase of change). Effects of organizational socialization (job satisfaction, organizational commitment, innovation, cooperation, organizational efficiency, acting in line with expectations). Reactions to organizational socialization (adaptation, creative individualism, rebellion). Tactics of organizational socialization. Organizational socialization in the context of organizational crisis.
Teaching in the course includes lectures in theoretical blocks with examples from practice. Within the exercise, work in groups is encouraged and realized through: discussions on specific topics, preparation and defence of seminar papers according to the offered list of relevant topics or topics proposed by students. Method of oral presentation; conversation; individual teaching, work with individuals (seminars, consultations, mentoring).
