The aim of the course is introducing and familiarizing students with modern management tools and methods, as well as enabling them to use them in order to become effective and efficient in founding solutions for problems in the company. Introducing students with examples from manufacturing and other organizations and ways of making decisions and solving problems.
Knowledge gained by listening the lectures and actively participating in teaching activities, attendants (students) will be able to use in their daily professional work, as well as in further professional development. In this regard, attendants will be increasing their knowledge of managerial terminology, processes and innovation. They will become aware of the latest trends in management and significantly improve their managerial, entrepreneurial and leadership skills necessary for the everyday business practice and successful career. The course will introduce participants with new, advanced management tools and methods, new ways of their application in the everyday business practice and enable further professional and personal development of each student in terms of acquisition and application of management tools and methods. Theoretical classes: Concept, development and significance of modern management. Management as a science, skill and occupation. Interdisciplinarity of modern management. Tasks and objectives of managers in organizations. Effectiveness and efficacy of managers. Standard and advanced tools and methods in management: TQM, Statistical Process Control, Lean principles, Six Sigma method, Kaizen philosophy, TPM, teamwork, leadership, brainstorming, reengineering, green management, CRM, learning organization, Balanced Scorecard, knowledge management , brand management. Practical classes: exercises on practical examples from the field of management, as well as analyzing and resolving case studies and assignments.
Classes are presented interactively. In addition to the theoretical framework, classes are also based on practical assignments that students are required to solve. Using simulation of problem situations students will be practicing the most important aspects in understanding the actual situation in their environment and organization. Presentation of seminar papers created by students.
