The objective of the course is to introduce the concept of electronic business and to understand how electronic business affects enterprises. Electronic business, from the engineering managers prospective, is automation of traditional business methods and solving business problems with the use of spreadsheet software.

At the end of the course, the students will be able to apply tools that enable companies to use information systems in order to achieve competitive advantages; to transform business systems using information systems; to recognize ethical, social and political issues related to e-business; to fully apply the principles and practices of e-commerce. The engineering managers will be trained for advanced use of the best spreadsheet software - Microsoft Excel.

Trends in the field of electronic business; Global e-business and globalization; Achieving competitive advantage by using e-business; Ethical and social challenges in e-business; IT infrastructure: hardware and software; Telecommunications, internet and wireless technologies; Applications at the enterprise level; Electronic commerce; Advancement of decision-making and knowledge management; Development of the information system.

Lectures are auditory with theoretical treatment. Practice include use of computers and MS Excel software to demonstrate various skills. Course is supported with the e-learning platform (Moodle eLLab).
