Educational goal:

Mastering contemporary approaches and methods or research work aimed at improving the automation of the design and development processes of the computer aided production systems. Application of current technologies in solving complex problems in real systems that are based on the usage of computer aided systems for design and production. Students are trained both for independent work and for work in interdisciplinary teams.

Educational outcome:

Familiarization with state-of-the-art trends and methodologies in problem solving in the area of computer aided design and manufacturing. Developing creativity in design and development of real systems in the subject area using currently available tools and methods. Students are referred to methods of tracking current scientific literature, as well as research work in the subject area.

Course content:

State-of-the-art systems for Computer Aided Design - CAD, Computer Aided Manufacturing - CAM, Computer Aided Engineering - CAE, Computer Integrated Manufacturing - CIM. Design and automation of advanced systems used for design, assembly and production. Analysis and improvement of systems used for computer aided design and manufacturing.

Teaching methods:

In agreement with the mentor, the student selects narrower parts in the field. The areas covered in this subject are: Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM). Depending on the number of students, lessons are held in group or by mentorship. Students are in obligation to create and defend the subject project. Through extensive consultations, students are trained to write scientific papers in the selected field.
