Educational goal:

Introductory education of students in the area of information and financial engineering, and data science. Adopting basic notions in the area of information and financial engineering and data science, and providing easier following all the other courses in the study program.

Educational outcome:

Students are supposed to gain basic knowledge about organization systems and their functions. As completed the course, students gain a global picture and understanding of a role of information and software engineering in business systems, as well as goals and logic of financial processes in business system.

Course content:

Organizations and business systems. A role, mission and vision of an organization. Organization law forms. Profit and non-profit organizations. Organizational units of business systems and their functions. Organization structures, business areas and business models. Financial function. Marketing function. Human resources function. R&D function. Information system in organizations and business. Requirements engineering. Software engineering. Life cycle of the information system and software development. Databases and big data processing in business. Business intelligence, data mining, data science and computing intelligence in support of business problem solutions. Modern computer architectures in support of business intelligence.
