The educational goal of the course is to master the knowledge of the main concept? in the project management field. The course deals with and analyzes key concepts and knowledge of formal project management procedures using a large number of tools, methods and techniques needed for effective and efficient project management in order to achieve project results respecting the constraints of time, cost, scope and quality. Through the course, students will be introduced to the concept of strategic project management and enterprise strategy management through projects in order to be able to coordinate and direct projects in accordance with the requirements and strategic goals of the organization. The aim of the course is for a graduate information technology engineer to acquire competencies for information security project management with the application of advanced tools and techniques for project management.

Students who fulfill the pre-examination obligations and pass the exam will be able to: (1) understand the importance of project management to achieve business goals, (2) to understand the importance of applying different tools and techniques in project management, (3) to apply a large number of tools, methods and techniques needed for effective and efficient project management in order to achieve results within the constraints of time and resources, (4) to understand the strategy of enterprise management through projects, and (6) to monitor and control the project team, be flexible in overcoming impediments, adapting to changes and to control over the results achieved.

Basic concepts in project management. Contemporary project management. Project management standards. Differences between projects, programs and portfolios. Linking projects with company strategy. Integration management. Scope management. Time management. Cost management. Quality management. Resource management. Communication management. Risk management. Stakeholder management. An overview of modern tools and techniques with the scope of application in project management.

Course teaching methods include interactive lectures that cover basic concepts in the project management field and provides a theoretical basis for the application of advanced tools and techniques in various application areas in project management. In the exercises, students work on case study analyzes, project management process simulations, and participate in group discussions. Divided into teams during the semester they work on the preparation of the project task. The exercises will encourages group work and learning through gamification.
