Educational goal:

Acquiring basic knowledge regarding the process of sound design for computer games. The main goal of the course is to enable students to independently create and implement sound content in computer games. Emphasis is placed on the use of audio editing programs (Audio sequencer), sound libraries, and Unreal, a program for creating computer games.

Educational outcome:

Acquiring knowledge and ability to 1) create sound effects ready to be implemented in a computer game; (2) create different styles of sound effects, depending on the genre of the computer game; (3) apply and acquire various practical and theoretical knowledge in this field in order to develop a critical understanding of interactive sound. Students will acquire the ability to independently create and implement sound for multicomputer games, using archive sound effects (sound library).

Course content:

Basics of sound design for computer games•Creation and implementation of sound atmosphere for computer games•Creation and implementation of sound effects of character walking for computer games•Implementation of music in computer games•Sound zones in computer games•Application of acquired knowledge in the field of creation and implementation of sound for computer games games (work on student projects).

Teaching methods:

Lectures and exercises in the computer laboratory. Consultations. Computer exercises are based on mastering computer programs for creating and implementing sound effects and music for computer games, using the program: Unreal. Pre-examination requirements - Students are required to pass the colloquium and do one computer game sound project, which earns them the right to take the exam. Exam - Verification of theoretical knowledge through a test.
