Educational goal:

The objective of the course is to obtain actual knowledge in the field of Internet of things and communication protocols in industrial and non-industrial application and to introduce research problems.

Educational outcome:

The outcome of the course is to obtain knowledge that enables students` ability for independent and group research and research in this area.

Course content:

Concepts of IoT. Standards for IoT. Architecture of the system with IoT. Platforms for working with IoT. Regulations for IoT. Examples of IoT application. Standards for industrial and non-industrial communication networksReal-time characteristics of Internet of Things. Industrial and non-industrial communication networks and protocols. Examples of the use of wireless communication and wireless sensors networks in industrial and non-industrial applications.

Teaching methods:

Mentor and the student choose one or more modules, depending on the scope of the module. Consultation. Lectures are conducted in combination. Leaving the theoretical part is followed by examples which serve to clarify material of the theoretical part. In addition to lectures, consultations are held regularly. Through study research, the student studies scientific journals and other literature and independently deepens curriculum from lectures. Through the work with the teacher, the student is trained to write independently their own scientific work.
