ECTS 5
Educational goal:

Acquiring the knowledge about the techniques of high-accuracy measurements in industrial processes and final products control.

Educational outcome:

Acquired knowledge is used to solve engineering problems, and also is a basis for further studying and professional improvement within advanced subjects.

Course content:

Introduction, classification of instruments and techniques for high-precision measurements in industry. Technical requirements, tolerances, norms and standards. General methods of high-precision (measurements of distances, angles, laser trackers, integrated measurement systems). Instruments and devices for high-precision industrial measurements (optical, contact, pneumatic sensors, industrial total stations, CMOS sensors, industrial cameras, thermal cameras, high-precision laser instruments, laser tracker systems (6DoF)). Methods for control of product dimensions in all phases of production. Methods for inspection of surface and shape of products. Methods for classification, marking and sorting of products according to type. Measurements data processing. Accuracy assessment control of products geometry.

Teaching methods:

Teaching forms: lectures, computer-laboratory practice, consultations, individual elaboration of obligatory tasks. Knowledge evaluation: guided and individual elaboration of obligatory tasks, 50%, final examination – oral form, 50%.
