Application of advanced techniques and methods for visualization of geospace. Creation and visualization of geospatial phenomena and application of multimedia approach in cartographic mapping.

Acquiring knowledge and skills that include understanding of relevant terms from Cartography, Multimedia Cartography and GIS. Development of the ability for modeling of geospatial phenomena and application of tools for advanced creation and visualization of multimedia content.

Definition of multimedia. Definition of Multimedia Cartography. Historical overview of multimedia development. Designing a multimedia map: digitizing text, images and sound. Editing of multimedia content. Standards and protocols for multimedia content transfer. Cartographic visualization in a multimedia environment. Interactive multimedia content. Animations. Multimedia maps on CD and on the Internet. Basics of computer graphics. Modeling and visualization of 3D scenes. Visualization with symbols and photorealistic symbolization.
