Getting acquainted with the methodology of applying CAD systems in design of infrastructure projects (roads, railways and airports) and algorithms and passing protocols of modern methods of designing

Ability to apply the CAD systems in highway design and ability to use digital methods in design and construction processes. The acquired knowledge can be directly applied in engineering practice.

Techniques and modeling and remodeling algorithms of terrain. Algorithms and methods of calculating earthen works. Design of axial geometry of line objects based on tangential polygon or application of rotating and translational elements. Algorithms for preparing longitudinal profiles and defining leveling. Analysis and preparation of transverse profiles. Graphic and numerical processing of transverse profiles of line objects. Modeling of line objects. Detailed gradation and modeling of surface intersections

Lectures, auditory exercises, research papers and consultations. The lectures present theoretical part of the teaching in the form of presentations of individual method units followed by appropriate examples from practice, for easier understanding and convaying of the knowledge. On auditory exercises, lectures with more active participation of students are discussed in more detail. In addition to lectures and exercises, consultations are also held regularly. The student, on the basis of the obtained information (lectures, literature, consultations and general instructions at the beginning of the exercise), solves the assigned tasks and makes research papers based on subject topics. Written and positively assessed seminars are the condition for entering the exam. The exam covers the entire material presented during the semester and is taken orally. Grade is formed based on the attendance of lectures and exercises, evaluation of research papers and oral exam.
