Subject: Selected Chapters in Hydrology (17.GD043)

Native organizations units: No data
General information:

Category Scientific-professional
Scientific or art field Hydrotechnics
Interdisciplinary No
ECTS 10
Educational goal:

Understanding the concept model of random variables and hydrological modeling in the analysis of rainfall-runoff from the point of application and the basis for scientific research.

Educational outcome:

Acquire the knowledge of stochastic methods and particular hydrological processes in the basin necessary for understanding and consequently the establishment of appropriate deterministic model of rainfall - runoff.

Course content:

The basic principles of the process of rainfall-runoff in terms of establishing a mathematical model of runoff in the basin. Application of stochastic principles and practices based on multidimensional random variable in order to form the input database. Analysis of the particular process in the basin (infiltration, evapotranspiration, runoff) relevant to the establishment of model rainfall - runoff and studying to do with the flow in porous media (groundwater) and flow in open channels. Erosive processes in the catchment, theoretical bases and models. Analysis of floods and drought as extreme hydrological phenomena.

Teaching methods:

Teaching is done interactively through lectures, auditory and computer exercises. At lectures theoretical part is presented with characteristic examples for better understanding. For auditory exercises are doing typical tasks and deepens the exposed material. In addition to lectures and exercises are regularly held. The final grade is based on: the success of the written and oral part of the exam
