Native organizations units: No data
General information:

Category Academic-general educative
Scientific or art field Grafičko inženjerstvo
Interdisciplinary Yes
ECTS 10
Educational goal:

Expanding and acquiring new and specific knowledge in the field of computer image processing with special emphasis on application in the field of graphic technologies. Training of students for independent work, analysis of existing solutions and synthesis of new solutions in a selected thematic area of computer image processing in order to engage in scientific research in the domain of graphic technologies.

Educational outcome:

Students will master the necessary basic knowledge in the field of modern computer image processing. They acquire the ability to critically analyze existing solutions and synthesize new solutions in selected areas of computer image processing in order to engage in scientific research in the field of graphic technologies. Through the development of study research work, students will be introduced in detail with current research on the application of computer image processing from a selected thematic area.

Course content:

Current research in the field of computer image processing. Modern techniques for forming a digital image using cameras, scanners and other optical systems with sensory elements in the domain of industrial control systems and objective visual measurement methods. Contemporary approaches to the use of application software for image processing and analysis. Use image enhancement and filtering operations (local, spatial, transformation domain operations). Application of image segmentation operations (segmentation by threshold, clustering, region and border of the region, and segmentation of the texture). Use of morphological image processing operations (dilation, erosion, closure, opening, separation of the boundary of objects). Application of morphological operations over a picture with multiple levels of gray. Use the description of the content of the image in current research. Computer processing and analysis of color images. Contemporary achievements in the application of computer processing and image analysis in graphic technologies, in printing systems for printing, conventional and digital printing, for improving various substrates, as well as in controlling the quality of processing operations in the final graphic processing.

Teaching methods:

Teaching is done in the form of lectures and through study research work. In lectures, contemporary didactic means and methods, theoretical part of the material is presented interactively and presents characteristic examples of current research in a selected thematic area, using modern information and communication technologies. In addition to lectures, consultations are regularly held. Study research work involves the active monitoring and study of primary scientific sources (journals, monographs and scientific books), performing numerical simulations and experiments, as well as writing scientific work in the subject area.
