Educational goal of this course is to prepare students for scientific research in the field of industrial product design. Especially the aspects of product form, its influence on consumer perception and usage value. It aims to enable students for experiment construction, gathering, analysis and interpretation and presentation of research data regarding ergonomics, aesthetics, ecological influence, etc.

After the course, students are able to successfully conduct scientific research regarding design of industrial products through ideation, construction, conducting, analysis, interpretation and presentation of the research results individually or as a member of research group. Theoretical knowledge and practical skills obtained in this course can be used in professional engagement as well as the contribution to science in this field.

Course elements are: Contemporary theory on product design, considering influence of form, modern materials and production methods, relation form-ergonomics, consumers perception of the products aesthetics, research methodology in the field.

Interactive teaching consists of the lectures, research work. Theory is presented in lectures, supported by the examples for better understanding of the course content. Lecture presentations contain text, images, animation and video material. Active overview of current research through primary scientific sources and publishing research results. Apart from lectures and research work, tutorials are regularly held.
