Due to the fact that standardization today is necessary in all branches, this is also necessary in the graphics industry. Therefore, the aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic concepts related to the organization of the production process within the graphics industry, mastering the basic concepts related to standardization in general, getting acquainted with a wide range of standards within the printing industry: standards in the preparation for pre-press and press. Primarily, the goal of the course is to enable the student to understand and actively participate in the preparation of the standardization process within the graphics industry, but also to actively participate in the introduction of current international standards in the graphic industry.
Upon completion of the course, the student is familiar with the standards in the field of pre-press and press. He is able to understand and apply the standards related to the PDF documents in the context of the print preparation, perform printing form and print quality control according to the standards prescribed by ISO, GRACoL or SWOP. The student is able to adequately use the methods of quality control in the graphics industry and to actively participate in the introduction of current international standards in the graphics industry, he is capable of establishing a quality management system that will direct the production to the achievement of the set goals in terms of business quality.

Advantages and disadvantages of the implemented and certified quality system, Quality management in the graphics industry, Organization of business and documenting in the printing industry, Standardization in the framework of the preparation for the press: basic notes, standardization of input documents, methods and techniques for controlling input documents, organization of document exchange during preparation for printing, protocols for communication and exchange of standardized documents between the client and the printing presses, standardization of printing forms (interpretation of the recommendations of the ISO standard). Standardization in the press: ISO standards, GRACoL standards, SWOP standards, ISO certification (ISO), IFRA standards, FOGRA recommendations, DFTA recommendations.
Teaching process is performed using modern didactic means and methods, interactive, in the form of lectures and computer exercises. Theoretical part of the course is presented in lectures. The lecture materials are available to students in .pdf format. Computer classes are organized in a way to supplement theoretical knowledge and enable their practical application. Practical teaching also involves analyzing the existing graphic companies and making a basis for introducing possible standards within the production industry. In addition to lectures and exercises, consultations are also held regularly.
