Mastering basic and advanced techniques and technologies for installation, configuration and administration of computer systems, with emphasis on computer systems used in infrastructural systems.

Students will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about installation, configuration and administration of computer systems, especially the ones used in infrastructural systems.

Basics of computer system configuration. Independent computer system. Networking – intranet and internet. System services – configuration and performance monitoring. Administration of end users and configuration of users’ system priviledges. Updating system and application software. Automation of software installation and configuration. Documenting the configuration parameters.

Teaching is performed through lessons, oral and computer exercises (in the computer classroom), as well as consultations. Through the teaching process, students are constantly motivated to an intensive discussion, problem oriented reasoning, independent study work and active participation in the whole lecturing process. The prerequisite to enter final exam is to complete all the pre-exam assignments by earning at least 30 points.
