General information:

Category Scientific-professional
Scientific or art field Applied Computer Science and Informatics
Interdisciplinary No
ECTS 6
Educational goal:

Acquiring of basic processes of the modern 3D graphic pipeline with an emphasis on creating graphic representations of interest in smart grid. Particular attention is paid to activities in the 3D geometry and rasterization phases that are critical for the efficient and effective display of the complex content of the smart grid service of each category.

Educational outcome:

At the completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Allocates the most optimal hardware / software resources for the required graphic display. 2. Develop and implement a graphical presentation on both the most sophisticated client devices, as well as on the most modest devices, according to the requirements and context of use. 3. Corrects the available graphics solutions to increase the level of detail without compromising the efficiency and security of the smart grid client.

Course content:

Introduction to raster hardware and software libraries (OpenGL, ES and WebGL versions, as well as DirectX) with programming at the declarative and procedural level. Processes and algorithms for 3D transformations, vertex shading, projecting, culling, clipping, screen mapping, triangle setup, fragmentation, raster shading and texturing with image blending. Examples of interactive visualization of topology and network status, including simple technical animations.
