Becoming familiar with the advanced transmission techniques and signal processing in a mobile radio environment.

Understanding the nature of multi-dimensional fading channel and advantages of particular transmission techniques. Insight into contemporary radio-systems and spectrum management. Ability to design cellular system by controlling co-channel interference.

Spectrum Management. Technology Perspectives. Multi-dimensional Propagation Channel (Description, Characterization and Modeling). Signalling over Fading Channels. Transmission Techiques for Fading Mitigation (OFDM, SS/RAKE, Adaptive Equalization, Multiuser Detection, Diversity, MIMO, Spact-Time Block Codes). Cellular Systems (Frequency planning, Co-channel interference, Handoff, Improving Coverage and Capacity).

Lectures, auditory, computer and laboratory exercises.
