Student will acquire general knowledge about Internet of Things (IoT) and its underlying principles. It will particularly focus on real-time systems. The course will cover Industrial IoT including its reference models, architecture and convergence of IT/OT technologies. The course will include specific applications of industrial IoT systems and protocols developed for Industrial IoT.
The student will be able to understand basic principles of industrial automation and cyber-physical systems. He/she will obtain insights into existing concepts and solutions for supervisory and control systems (and real-time systems) based on general IoT platforms. Student will acquire generic knowledge about technical processes and their classificiation and will be able to design industrial IoT systems.
Process automation: Real Time Systems. Existing systems for supervisory control and monitoring (SCADA/M2M). IIoT - Industrial Internet of Things: components and architecture, differences to IoT. Application Scenarios: 1) Process Automation (PlantWeb architecture), Building Automation (BAS communication standards), 3) Power Systems Automation (Smart Grid). Wireless aspects: Narrowband IoT, Lora, Wireless HART.
