Educational goal:

Students work on all language skills with the focuse on communication. They perfect their ability to express their opinion on topics related to their future professional work in engineering. Students acquire a number of phrases and expressions of the English language used in conversation.

Educational outcome:

Students are able to use extensive vocabulary related to the course topics and can adequately use it. They are able to express their opinion in English, using the appropriate style, grammar, vocabulary etc.

Course content:

Topics and texts of interest for students of engineering with the acquisition of the appropriate vocabulary. The phrases used when expressing opinion, agreement and disagreement, showing interest, stressing something in conversation etc. Strategies for text understanding. Listening and note taking.

Teaching methods:

Lectures: the focus is on the student’s participation in class conversations, both with the teacher and with other students. The communicative approach is used in the foreign language course of study.
