Educational goal:

Further devopment of all language skills at an advanced level. Developing the skills of fluent, precise and efficient communication on a wide range of topics and in different situations. Extending the knowledge with new vocabulary, collocations, use of prefixes and suffixes, sophisticated aspects of English granmmar and language structures at an advanced level.

Educational outcome:

Students are able communicate at an advanced level with language knowledge and skills appropriate for various situations using the appropriate vocabulary, style and tone of communication.

Course content:

Further development of the use of all verb teses, conditional sentences, modal verbs, phrasal verbs, Developing skills for avoiding repetitions, making emphasis and softening claims, expressing personal opinion, agreement and disagreement, giving advice. Formal and informal style in speech and writing.

Teaching methods:

Teaching is done using communicative method of language learning. After a short introduction about a topic, the students read the text and find new words in a dictionary. This is followed by a discussion about the topics mentioned in the text and the conclusions offered there. A part of the class is devoted to learning and practicing new vocabulary through oral and written exercises as well as to revision and expansion of knowledge related to certain grammar structures. Students are encouraged to communicate in English through group discussions and pair work.
