Educational goal:

Familiarizing with advanced functions for realizing virtual instruments and their hardware and software architecture. Acquiring knowledge about realization of measurements in the electric power network using the concept of virtual instrumentation. Mastering the student with modern technologies and trends in the field of measurement and signal analysis. Acquiring knowledge from design of complex measuring systems based on computers.

Educational outcome:

Ability to know the work of computers in the implementation of complex measurement and control systems and the principles of working of virtual instruments. Realization of complex mathematical algorithms in the LabVIEW program package. Ability to realize complex measurement, acquisition and data processing using the LabVIEW program. Training for realization of complex measuring devices in electronics and energy.

Course content:

Realization of complex measuring instruments in the LabVIEW program package. Planning LabVIEW applications. Overview of advanced numerical functions. Graphs and diagrams. Advanced functions for working with files. Communication with traditional measuring devices, GPIB and VISA communication. Measuring converters and adapters, categories of measurement signal source. Measuring and acquisition devices for signals. Measurement errors, division of measurement errors according to the cause of formation. Fit measurement data. Linearized two-parameter empirical formulas, the least squares method. Measurement and analysis of signals in the electro-energy network. Signals and systems. Z-transformation. Digital filters, FIR and IIR filters, realization of filters in LabVIEW program. Adaptive filters, Gradient-based adaptive filters, Wiener's condition. Newton's method, the method of the sharpest descent method, the least middle squares method. Methods for measuring the frequency in the EE network. Measuring the frequency of the signal based on measuring the duration of the signal period. Frequency measurement based on three consecutive signal samples. Measuring the frequency of the signal using the method of the smallest middle squares. Harmonic analysis. Furie's order and Fourier transform. Discrete Fourier Transformation. Fast Fourier transform, realization of FFT algorithm in LabVIEW program. Measurement of active, reactive and apparent power. Power Measurement according to IEEE Standard 1459-2010. Measurement of power by adaptive harmonic filtering.
