Subject: Tehnologije električnih vozila (17.EEI311)

General information:

Category Professional-applicative
Scientific or art field Energetska elektronika, mašine, pogoni i obnovljivi izvori električne energije
ECTS 6

The main goal is for students to become familiar with the structure and functional values of individual electrical, electromechanical, and measurement-communication systems, which make up modern electric vehicles. Additionally, students will learn how these systems interact and how their integration is carried out (both among themselves and with systems outside the vehicle). In this way, they will be prepared for further development of competencies and acquisition of the knowledge needed for work in the design, development, and production of electric vehicles, and they will also have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in entrepreneurial activities.

Upon successfully completing the course, students will understand the theoretical principles by which electrical, electromechanical, and measurement-communication systems in an electric vehicle function. They will know how to determine the necessary characteristics of individual elements and how to perform parameterization of the corresponding subassemblies, all according to predefined specifications. All theoretical and practical considerations will be conducted with a focus on the economic and commercial aspects of the addressed technologies, so that the acquired knowledge becomes even more applicable in the automotive industry.

Introduction to electric vehicles, EV structure, power electronics converters (traction inverters, chargers, medium and low power converters), electric machines (asynchronous, synchronous, reluctance, BLDC), energy storage systems (electric batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, hybrid systems), sensors (measuring electrical and non-electrical quantities in vehicles), communication protocols in the automotive industry (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, MOST), standards used in the automotive industry (V model, ISO26262, AUTOSAR, MISRA, FMEA), EV subsystem integration and EV and environment integration, entrepreneurship in EV industry (opportunity identification, product development, competitive environment analysis, market analysis, customer discovery, financial tools).

The course is delivered in the form of lectures, classroom exercises, and computer-based exercises.
