Acquiring general theoretical and practical knowledge about problems and their solutions in wireless communication systems. Applications in consumer and industrial systems.
Basis of information transfer. PHY and MAC network level in WiFi and ZigBee standards. The differences and similarities. Interference, frequency channel selection, transmission distance and transmission speed problems. Relay routing problem, topology. Integration with the Internet. IP and Ethernet networks and their connections with wireless systems. Integration with cellular networks. The concept of cellular-sensory gateway. Overview of 3G and LTE. Machine-to-machine (M2M) concept. Geolocation information, GPS system and integration in communication systems.
