Training students to independently research the literature and to independently conduct research in the field of digital image processing and its application in data science.

Students will be trained to independently research the literature and to independently conduct research in the field of digital image processing and its application in data science.

State-of-the-art methods and techniques in digital image processing. Image segmentation. Descriptor extraction. Image content analysis. Data extraction from digital images and their analysis. Knowledge extraction using algorithms from digital image processing. Using advanced digital image processing algorithms and methods in data science.

Forms of teaching include: lectures, practical work on computers, developing projects, as well as consultations. During the lecture classes the content of the course is presented using the necessary didactic materials and stimulating the active participation through presentation of the assigned materials. The practical component is covered through computer work. The student is obliged to develop an independent project.
