Introduction to distributed and high-performance computing: communication media and protocols; programming models; higher level communication; storage and file problems; message passing standards; security, and scheduling.

Forms of teaching include lectures, practical work on computer, project development and consultations. During the lectures the content of the course is presented using the necessary didactic means and the active participation on the part of the students is ensured by assigning them the presentation of the selected topics. The practical aspect of the course is covered through work on computers. The students aer expected to develop an individual project.
