The objective of the course is the acquisition of knowledge in the field of digital document, digital library and digital archive management.

The student is able to analyse the existing systems for digital documentation and to design new ones.

Digital document management standards. Digital document management systems. Digital document management technologies. Examples of digital document management systems. A part of the course work is conducted through independent individual research study work in the field of Digital Archives. The research study work requires the student`s active and constant interest in and reading of the primary scientific resources and, optionally, writing a paper in the field of Digital Archives.

Lectures, practical computer work, project work and tutorial work. Using the necessary didactic tools, the lectures present the course content and stimulate the active participation of students by asking them to present a part of the course content assigned to them. The practical knowledge required by the course in obtained through computer practice. The student is required to do the project work on his own.
