Fundamental knowledge of non conventional metal forming methods in theoretical and applicative domain, with detailed consideration of application possibility and objective limitations. Knowledge of main elements of working systems of non conventional metal forming methods and their specific characteristics in relation to conventional metal forming methods. Ability to independently solve practical and theoretical problems, using scientific methods and procedures in the field of non conventional forming of metal materials. Mastering creativity with the aim of developing new approaches in the field of non conventional forming of metal materials. Development of creative and independent problem solving in the field of of non conventional forming of metal materials. Critical consideration of application of individual non conventional metal forming methods in specific cases.

Course content:

Classification of non convetional technologies of plastic deforming. Hydrodeforming of pipes, basic postulates, theoretical process analysis, possibilities of utilizaition, limitations, basic process parameters, friction, friction influence, reduction of friction. Micro-forming in the fields of sheet and bulk metal forming, similarity law, size effect, micro-forming in relation to classical metal forming. Net shape forming and near net shape forming, process characteristics, application scope, reduction of energy parameters, surface quality and accuracy of parts. Flexible bending, application in light constructions, process realization. Application of laser in sheet metal forming. Metal forming with local heating. Cold indenting of shallow parts. Sheet and bulk incremental forming.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, study research work and consultations. The lectures provide a theoretical part of the material using modern equipment and information and communication technologies. Through lectures, a student acquires and mastered contemporary scientific knowledge, scientific methods and procedures that enable him to become independent research work. In addition to lectures, consultations are also held regularly. Study research work includes all forms of teaching that are in the function of directly training a student for research, writing scientific papers and making a doctoral dissertation. Study research work includes active monitoring of primary scientific sources, organization and execution of numerical simulations and experimental research.
