Educational goal:

Acquiring knowledge in the design and exploitation field of modern machine tools (multi-axis, hybrid machining, parallel and hybrid kinematics, precision, mini)

Educational outcome:

Knowing and defining concepts, of modern machine tools, design vital components and machines as a whole, prediction of behavior in exploitation, knowledge of modern methods of machine testing.

Course content:

Achievements in developmental and development trends of modern machine tools. Accuracy of machine tools. Volume accuracy. Conceptual effects on the accuracy of machine tools - the theory of measuring chains. Numerical models of static machine tool behavior. Analytically-experimental model of machine tool behaviour. Machine tool thermal model. Multi-axis machine tools. Multifunctional machine tools for hybrid machining. Machine tools for high-speed machining. Main traffic subsystem. Main movement subsystem. Subsystem for auxiliary movement Elements of the supporting structure, elements for support and guidance. Machine tools based on parallel and hybrid kinematics. Reconfigurable machine tools. Precision machine tools. Mini machine tools. Machine tools for micro-machining.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, independent study research work, consultancy. Lectures are conducted in combination. Lectures presents the theoretical part of the material accompanied by characteristic examples for easy understanding of the material. Through study research work student, studying scientific journals and other literature and own deepens curriculum with lectures. In addition to working teacher with the student, he is trained to write own scientific work.
