Development of scientific capabilities, academic and practical skills in the field of production metrology and quality improvement. Achieving the ability to use information and communication technologies in the processes of measuring and improving quality.

Educational outcome:

Fundamental knowledge of the problems of production measurement and quality improvement. Ability to independently solve practical and theoretical problems using scientific methods and procedures in the field of system approach to production metrology and quality improvement. Developing creative and independent thinking about problems in the subject area.

Course content:

Calibration and traceability. Measured uncertainty. International metrology organizations. Tendencies in the development of production metrology. Geometric specifications and their verification. Agile production and metrology. Development and application of measuring instruments in nanotechnologies. Coordinate measurements for intelligent production systems. Product quality - new approaches. Methods and techniques of quality improvement. Taguchi method. Application of artificial intelligence in the field of production metrology and quality improvement.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, study research work and consultations. The lectures provide a theoretical part of the materials with the use of modern equipment and information and communication technologies. Through lectures, a student acquires and mastered contemporary scientific knowledge, scientific methods and procedures that enable him to become independent research work. In addition to lectures, consultations are also held regularly. Study research work includes all forms of teaching that are in the function of directly training a student for research, writing scientific papers and making a doctoral dissertation. Study research work includes active monitoring of primary scientific sources, organization and implementation of experimental research.
