Educational goal:

Acquiring knowledge about contemporary approaches in the field of reverse engineering design. Development of scientific abilities, academic and practical skills from the domain of 3D digitization, point cloud management and surface reconstruction. Achieving the ability to use information and communications technologies in the realization of a reverse engineering design.

Educational outcome:

Fundamental knowledge of the problem of reverse engineering design. Ability to independently solve practical and theoretical problems, using scientific methods and procedures in the field of system approach to a reverse engineering design. Mastering creativity with the goal of developing new approaches in the field of reverse engineering design. Development of creative and independent problem solving in the field of reverse engineering design.

Course content:

Reverse engineering design in a modern production environment. Advanced approaches in the methodology of reverse engineering design. Modern approaches in the field of 3D digitization with emphasis on non-contact systems. Advanced methods for point cloud management (filtering, segmentation, reduction). Big data methods for point cloud management. Modern approaches for surface reconstruction. Application of artificial intelligence methods in the field of reverse engineering design. Integration of a reverse engineering design with other advanced techniques and technologies for product development.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, study research work and consultations. The lectures provide a theoretical part of the material using modern equipment and information and communications technologies. Through lectures, a student acquires and mastered contemporary scientific knowledge, scientific methods and procedures that enable him to conduct independent research work. In addition to lectures, consultations are also held regularly. Study research work includes all forms of teaching that are in the function of directly training a student for research, writing scientific papers and doctoral dissertation. Study research work includes active use of primary scientific sources, organization and execution of numerical simulations and experimental research.
