Subject: Application of artificial intelligence in machining technology (17.DP009)

Native organizations units: Department of Production Engineering, Chair of Machining
General information:

Category Scientific-professional
Scientific or art field Processes for Material Removal Processing
Interdisciplinary No
ECTS 10
Educational goal:

Development of new knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence. Acquiring scientific and academic skills in the field of application of artificial intelligence in the machining technology. Achieving the ability to use various methods of artificial intelligence in the process of identifying, modeling and predicting parameters at the selected machining process.

Educational outcome:

Systematic knowledge of the method of artificial intelligence. Ability to independently solve practical and theoretical problems using scientific procedures in the field of application of the artificial intelligence method in machining technology. The application of advanced and special techniques of artificial intelligence needed to solve key problems in the field of machining technology. Overcome critical abilities with the aim of concluding, as well as presenting the results of research according with current scientific standards.

Course content:

State and trends of actual research in field of conventional and unconventional machining processes by the use of artificial intelligence. Possibilities, justification and innovation of development machining processes by the use of artificial intelligence. Trends of development and structure of solutions of production problems by the use of artificial intelligence. Concrete scientific realization of problems of machining processes by the use of artificial neural network, expert systems, fuzzy logic and evolutionary algorithms. Lectures are carried out through research work which should cover active monitoring of primary scientific sources, organization and realization of experiments, statistical data processing, modelling and simulation of machining processes.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, study research work and consultations. The lectures provide a theoretical part of the material using modern equipment and information and communication technologies. Through lectures, a student acquires and mastered contemporary scientific knowledge, scientific methods and procedures that enable him to become independent research work. In addition to lectures, consultations are also held regularly. Study research work includes all forms of teaching that are in the function of directly training a student for research, writing scientific papers and making a doctoral dissertation. Study research work includes active monitoring of primary scientific sources, organization and execution of numerical simulations and experimental research.
