To acquire the knowledge of numerical simulations which is applied in statistical phzsics.
The students will have acquired the knowledge which enables them to develop models for solving problems in practical professional work as well as in science and research work in the corresponding areas.
Random number generators and their testing; Monte Carlo method and its application in statistical physics; Random walks on a lattice; Irreversible deposition on discrete substrates; Adsorption-desorption processes; Percolations and their appllication
Lectures. (The student can choose in consultation with co-mentor, one or more modules depending on module scope). Consultations. Lectures are organized in combined form. The presentation of the theoretical part is followed by the corresponding examples. In addition to lectures there are regular consultations. Through research and study work the student will, on the bases of scientific journals and other relevant literature that has been studied independently, develop further understanding of the material covered in lectures. Independent numerical work is also included..
