Educational goal:

Training the students for work on the jobs of: design, exploitation, engineering and constulting from the field of boiler plants.

Educational outcome:

Acquisition of fundamental knowledge on problems and solution methodology during design, plant management (steady-state and unsteady in terms of load change), engineering and boiler plants' consalting. Boilers design; fuel, combustion static and burning devices; thermal calculations; aerodynamics and hydraulics; corrosion; wearing, defilement and cleaning; racionalization and examination of boiler plants; influence of the boilers to environment and prevention of environmental pollution.

Course content:

Introduction, classification of the boilers, trend of the development. Fuels, composition, types and fuel characteristics. Fuel burning, combustion statics and kinetics, flue gases. Devices for combustion of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels. Fuel preparation for combustion. Water and steam. Heat calculations of steam boilers. Aerodynamics of gaseous and air tracts. Hydrodynamic processes in steam boilers. Basic elements of steam boilers. Frame, refractory and insulation of the boilers. Dynamics and regulation of steam boiler. Boiler's steels and strength calculations. Corrosion and regulation boiler's heating surfaces. Boilers and environment.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, study research work and consultations. The lectures provide a theoretical part of the material using modern equipment and information and communication technologies. Through lectures, a student acquires and mastered contemporary scientific knowledge, scientific methods and procedures that enable him to become independent research work. In addition to lectures, consultations are also held regularly. Study research work includes all forms of teaching that are in the function of directly training a student for research, writing scientific papers and making a doctoral dissertation. Study research work includes active monitoring of primary scientific sources, organization and execution of numerical simulations and experimental research.
