Native organizations units: Department of Civil Engineering
General information:

Category Professional-applicative
Scientific or art field Geodezija
ECTS 10

Acquisition of advanced and expert theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Geodesy and Geodynamics, including the critical understanding of theories, key concepts, methods and principles. Acquiring advanced and applied knowledge in the field of Geodynamics and determining of the movements of the Earth's crust at the top level.

It applies advanced and specialized skills and techniques needed to solve key research problems and to expand and redefine existing knowledge or work areas. Interpret results in accordance with international scientific standards. Develops new tools and instruments in the field of geodynamics of the Earth's crust..

Fundamentals in geodynamics. Engineering and geological processes. • Planet Earth (earth's interior, Earth rotation). • Study of exogenous and endogenous forces. • Seismology and Seismological Data Processing. • Reference systems. Three-dimensional positioning • The gravity field of the Earth. • Geoid (definition, mean sea level, geoid as a height reference surface). • Geodetic model of the Earth (the rotational ellipsoid, parameters and coordinate systems, spatial geodetic coordinates). • Methods of geodynamics measurements (satellite positioning, geodetic astronomy, gravimetry, conventional geodetic measurements, VLBI). • Geodesy and geodynamics. Tectonic plates. Determination of recent tectonic displacement of Earth's crust. • The Design and realisation of geodynamic networks • Determination of horizontal displacements. • Determination of vertical displacements. • Strain analysis, shear models and other models. • The models of congruence of geodetic networks in geodynamics. • Kinematic models of deformation determination in geodynamics.
