Subject: Selected chapters of Theoretical geodesy (17.DGI007)

Native organizations units: Sub-department for Automatic Control and Systems Engineering
General information:

Category Scientific-professional
Scientific or art field Geoinformatika
Interdisciplinary No
ECTS 10
Educational goal:

Developing knowledge about the connection between space (inertial) and terrestrial (along with Earth-bound) coordinate systems, or their realizations - frameworks, in order to learn and acquire skills for interconnecting the results of modern GPS satellite measurement with conventional terrestrial measurements using different date transformations.

Educational outcome:

Adoption of the theoretical and practical basics on which traditional and modern Geodetic Reference Systems (GRS) and their implementation are built - frames. Distinguish completely geometrically defined GRS from GRS to which it operates and which are based on the Earth's field of gravity. Being familiar with existing state and international reference frameworks. Understand and apply algorithms for conversion and transformation between different GRSs.

Course content:

Introduction to mathematical and physical geodesy. Reference coordinate systems and frameworks. Methods of terrestrial and satellite geodesy. Model equations of three-dimensional geodesy. Basics of geophysical theory. Absolute and relative determination of the acceleration of gravity. Gravimetric reference systems and gravimetric networks. Height above sea level. Statistical methods in physical geodesy. Modern methods of determining the Earth figures. Cosmic methods.

Teaching methods:

Lectures. Consultations. Internet. Research and study work. Projected task.
