Educational goal:

Advanced algorithms in digital mage processing. Understanding and implementation of the state-of-the-art algorithms based on the latest journal publications and final project.

Educational outcome:

Students will be able to understand algorithms used in digital image processing and can expand their knowledge by working at a particular topic related to their PhD thesis.

Course content:

Line and edge detection. Image compression. Image restoration. Image matching. Parallel algorithms for digital image processing. Multi-frequency processing, search and description of image singularities, combining images from multiple sources. Part of the course is based on the research work in the specific field of interest with application of digital image processing algorithms.

Teaching methods:

Lectures. Consultations. Study and research work is based on the journal publications, organization and conduction of experiments as well as statistical analysis of data, numerical simulations, and writing a paper in the specific scientific area of the doctoral dissertation.
