Molecular Electronics introduces the individual molecules as electronic components, molecular systems as an alternative to conventional electronics, belt and portable structures, polymer and organic semiconductors, molecular external links, the transfer of molecular structures, carbon nanotubes.

- The ability of understanding carbon nanotubes - Ability to apply logic circuits based on molecules - The ability of understanding polymer and organic semiconductors.

Structure and properties of electrically conductive organic compounds. Experimental techniques of making electrical contact to single molecules. Single electron tunneling in small molecules. Nonequilibrium Green's functions formalism for calculating electron transport in molecular devices. Application of density functional theory (DFT) for molecular electronics. Molecular nanowires. Quantum transport in carbon nanotubes as molecular wires. Molecular switches. Molecular memories. Molecular diodes and their application in logic circuits. Negative differential resistance in molecular junctions. Single?molecule transistors: Coulomb blockade and Kondo physics. Charge transport in DNA?based devices. Hybrid CMOL integrated circuits architectures. Part of the course takes place through individual research and study work in the field of molecular electronics. The study and research work is based on active study of primary scientific sources, model development, numerical implementation of model and performing of simulation, data processing of numerical simulations, as well as writing a paper in the narrow scientific field within the topic of the doctoral dissertation.

Lectures. Consultations. Review of scientific papers in field. Study and research work.
