Analysis of beam propagation through the theory and application of coupling, coupling via optical sources and waveguides, optical detectors, noise in optical detectors, optical radiation and amplification, optical amplifiers and lasers, semiconductor lasers. Part of teaching the course is conducted through independent study research in the field of optoelectronics and photonics. Research work includes active monitoring of primary scientific sources, organizing and conducting experiments and statistical analyzes, simulations, and writing a scientific paper in the area close to the dissertation topic.
