The main course objection is introduction to electrical equipment and commutation processes in a substation, characteristics and selection of measurement transformers and protection devices, commanding, synchronization, signaling and measurement. Introduction to calculation of reliability of electrical substations.
Knowledge and selection of measurement and protection equipment in electrical substations. Knowledge on selection of protection equipment against atmospheric and switching overvoltages. Knowledge and selection of substation supply scheme based on reliability methods and economic principles.
Park s model of synchronous machine. The impact of induction motors on short circuit current. The impact of distributed generation on short circuit current. Electric arc and commutation processes in the substation. Protection against atmospheric and switching overvoltages. Current and voltage transformers.
