Students gain advanced knowledge in the field of modeling, simulation, design and characterization of contemporary microwave passive and active circuits. Training students for scientific and research work, as well as experimental work with modern measurement equipment.

Students will be trained for design of integrated microwave circuits and systems by using modern CAD software packages through the following phases: creating ideal and realistic models, performing numerical simulations, creating a printed circuit board design, verification of laboratory prototype by measurement. Student will be qualified for independent research in the field of circuit design used in the state of the art and next generation of wireless systems (5G).

Passive microwave circuits (resonators, filters, antennas, power dividers, directional couplers, attenuators). Active microwave circuits (ampli?ers, oscillators, mixers). Advanced techniques of modeling and siimulation of microwave circuits. Use of specialized software packages for design 2D i 2.5D circuits (Microwave Office) and 3D circuits (CST, COMSOL, HFSS). Measurements in the microwave range. Characterization of microwave circuits. Theoretical basics and principles of operation of modern microwave circuits and systems. Part of the course takes place through individual research and study work in the field of simulation, design and characterization of RF and microwave circuits by using advanced software tools and modern measurement equipment. The study and research work is based on active study of primary scientific sources, organization and performance of experiments, processing of measurement data, numerical simulations, as well as writing a paper in the narrow scientific field within the topic of the doctoral dissertation.
