Educational goal:

The aim of the course is for students to master advanced techniques in the field of radiology.

Educational outcome:

Acquired knowledge about advanced techniques used in radiology (basics of radiological anatomy, basics of forming the analog and digital image in order to recognize the normal anatomical details and basic pathological radiological parameters, radiology in oncology, engineering diagnostics in oncology: UZ, CT. MRI, PET, fundamentals of engineering diagnostics in interventional radiology in oncology, basic principles of diagnostic algorithms in oncology, comparison of the radiological image and pathohistological findings, multidisciplinary approach of treatment planning in oncology, radiological monitoring of the effect of therapy, minimally invasive procedures, Fusion Imaging, contrasting methods in imaging, protection against ionizing radiation, the most common errors in radiology and oncology).

Course content:

Basics of radiological anatomy.   The basics of forming the analog and digital image in order to recognize the normal anatomical details and basic pathological radiological parameters. Radiology in oncology. Basics of engineering diagnostics in oncology: UZ, CT. MRI, PET. Fundamentals of engineering diagnostics in interventional radiology in oncology. Stereotactically guided biopsies. Ultrasound-guided biopsies. MR-guided biopsies. Basic principles of diagnostic algorithms in oncology. Comparison of the radiological image and pathohistological findings. Multidisciplinary approach of treatment planning in oncology. Radiological monitoring of the effect of therapy. Minimally invasive procedures. Fusion Imaging. Contrasting methods in imaging: indications and contraindications-UZ, CT, MR. Protection against ionizing radiation. The most common errors in radiology and oncology.
