Educational goal:

Acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of diagnostic procedures using ionizing radiation in radiological diagnostics.

Educational outcome:

Introduction and understanding of basic mechanisms of diagnosis with ionizing radiation. Getting acquainted with basic metrology principles in medicine as well as regulations and standards, primarily the European Union. Getting acquainted with the most up-to-date methods of diagnosis. Ability to independently solve problems as a reliable support to the medical community.

Course content:

Types of radiation and detection. Instrumentation for image acquisition and processing. Rendgen apparatus. Mammography and synchrotron mammography. Fluoroscopy, CT, Multislice ST. Digital Techniques. Interventional radiology. Radiation protection. Telemedicine in radiological diagnostics. DICOM standard
