Educational goal:

Acquiring knowledge on modern approaches in the field of engineering design and manufacturing of implants and medical models. Development of scientific abilities, academic and practical skills in the field of engineering design and manufacturing technologies of implants and medical models. Achieving the ability to use information and communications technologies in the realization of engineering design and manufacturing of implants and medical models.

Educational outcome:

Fundamental knowledge of the problem of engineering design and manufacturing of implants and medical models. Ability to independently solve practical and theoretical problems, using scientific methods and procedures in the field of engineering design and manufacturing of implants and medical models. Mastering creativity with the aim of developing new approaches in the field of engineering design and manufacturing of implants and medical models. Development of creative and independent problem solving in the field of engineering design and manufacturing of implants and medical models.

Course content:

Advanced methods of engineering design of medical and dental implants and medical models. Modern approaches in the field of medical and dental 3D digitization. Methods for improving the accuracy of 3D digitization results of anatomical structures. Advanced technologies for the production of medical and dental implants and medical models, with emphasis on technologies for additive manufacturing.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, study research work and consultations. The lectures provide a theoretical part of the material using modern equipment and information and communications technologies. Through lectures, a student acquires and mastered contemporary scientific knowledge, scientific methods and procedures that enable him to conduct independent research work. In addition to lectures, consultations are also held regularly. Study research work includes all forms of teaching that are in the function of directly training a student for research, writing scientific papers and doctoral dissertation. Study research work includes active use of primary scientific sources, organization and execution of numerical simulations and experimental research.
