Students learn about modern technologies and development trends in the field of electrotherapy.

Students acquired basic theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of electrotherapy.

Introduction to electrotherapy. Engineering approach to functional electrical therapy. The use of electrical energy as a medical treatment. Devices and therapeutics procedures (electostimulation, diathermy, ultrasonic therapy, laser therapy...). Galvanization (devices, electrodes, methods of treatment). Electrostimulation (devices, types of stimulation pulses, methods of treatment). TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation). High Frequency Currents. Diathermy (devices, physiological efects of heating the tissues, methods of treatment). Ultrasonic therapy (devices, methods of treatment). Laser therapy (devices, methods of treatment).
