ECTS 6
Educational goal:

Acquiring general knowledge about current trends in automation and data exchange in modern industrial applications.

Educational outcome:

Learning software platforms and technologies for implementation of a software-physical system.

Course content:

Basic concepts and challenges of software-physical systems (CPS). Links to embedded systems, Internet of things (IoT), cloud computing, cognitive computing and Industry 4.0 concept of "smart factories". Introduction to the principles of design, specification, modeling, and analysis of CPS. Implementation of CPS: abstractions and architectures (micro services, cloud architectures, etc.). Integration of CPS subsystems: Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and IoT communications, heterogeneous data integration from multiple sources, security and data privacy, etc. Big data concepts. Cloud computing and Big Data platforms and technologies. Integration of Big Data into CPS solutions and data processing algorithms: real-time interconnection with the real-world in industrial and critical environments, batch data processing for modeling and machine learning.
