Developing spatial visualization skills, spatial imagination and problem-solving abilities of various spatial relationships of selected geometric forms in two-dimensional (2D) representations in parallel and central projection.
The ability to identify and interpret spatial relationships of the examined spatial forms out of their 2D representations as well as the mastering of their geometrical structure and the ability of graphical representation by three-dimensional (3D) configurations in 2D media.
BASIC ELEMENTS OF SPATIAL VISUALISATION. Projections, views and images' types of basic geometric forms (points, lines, planes). Parallel and central projection, introduction to perspective projection. The criteria for obtaining characteristic views and position of the object (transformation and rotation) for the sake of direct detection of metric properties and spatial relationships of forms. Metric problems in perspective images. The concepts of visibility. The application to more complex forms (plane figures, polyhedra, solids of revolution, etc.). VISUALISATION AND GEOMETRIC STRUCTURE OF COMPLEX 3D FORMS. Criteria for plane sections' and mutual interections analysis of pencil-line generated surfaces (polyhedrals and parabolic quadrics) and surfaces of revolution; characteristic elements of this sections.
Lectures. Graphical - audiotorial practricals. Tutorials
