The aim of the course is to introduce students with creative and technological circumstances of the medium of photography. The artistic aspects aim to bring students into the creative processes which will enhance their creativity in other fields, too. Learning about technological aspects of photography will enable students to understand the set of relations between artistic and photographic demands, and opportunities of photography applied in the field of scene design.
The outcome of the course is student ability for creative expression in the field of photography, likewise the knowledge of the technology of production of photographic images.
During the course students will be introduced with the following themes: the power of photography, introduction to the techniques of photography (basic camera parts and functions)), camera lenses, demonstration of the camera, light character and the position in the relation to the camera and model, photography and theatre, art photographs/photography as art, advertising photographs principles, the treatment of space in photography, real and conceptual space in photography, photographic reportage, fashion photography, reading of contemporary photography.
Critical workshops, practical sessions, consultations. Critical workshops consist of lectures, discussions and critique of students’ and professional artworks. During the semester, students produce photos and make selection for the portfolio (project).
